So I haven’t blogged in a while.\u00c2\u00a0 Not for lack of subjects.\u00c2\u00a0 My TiVo<\/a> died.\u00c2\u00a0 We got a great new camera<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 I flew to Ohio for $10 each way<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 I ran over my cell phone<\/a>, but it still works except for the screen.\u00c2\u00a0 I helped release some pretty interesting software.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m looking at the Zimbra plugin for Evolution<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Our 6 month old is still<\/em> not sleeping through the night<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Our 4 year old is teaching himself to read.\u00c2\u00a0 Amy<\/a> is working again.<\/p>\n

None of those things were actually enough to make me blog, for some reason.\u00c2\u00a0 But finally something got my attention.<\/p>\n

We hired a baby sitter\u00c2\u00a0 take care of\u00c2\u00a0 Josh, the above mentioned 6 month old since Amy<\/a> and I are both working.\u00c2\u00a0 She’s very nice and arrives on time, and seems great with both boys.\u00c2\u00a0 But today she was late.\u00c2\u00a0 On a whim, I looked out the window and saw her car trying to get up our 100 foot driveway.\u00c2\u00a0 (Which is icy and snow covered even through our neighbor spent a ton of time clearing it after the snowstorm — which I also didn’t blog about.)<\/p>\n

I threw on clothes and ran outside to get her salt so her car could get up the driveway, but she met me at the door.<\/p>\n

“My car is on fire!”<\/p>\n

Well, it really was.\u00c2\u00a0 Lots of smoke — both white and black.\u00c2\u00a0 Flames.\u00c2\u00a0 Melting things.<\/p>\n

I called the fire department.\u00c2\u00a0 I got everyone out of the house.\u00c2\u00a0 The fire trucks arrived 2 minutes later.<\/p>\n

The car didn’t explode.<\/p>\n

I didn’t think to get pictures until the car was towed away.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m not sure why.<\/p>\n
